The tragedy of Drobytsky Yar was reported for the first time by a journalist from newspaper “Vecherniy Kharkov” Victoria Lebedeva in 1989.

When examining the archive of P. Sokolsky, new names of victims were established: more than 280 people were previously absent from the martyrology.

Sheet 89. | ActWe the undersigned: Mrs. Streltsova Natalia Ivanovna, residing in city of Kharkov, Vtoraya Koltsevaya St. Shveinikov house, apt. 42, Mr. Pasyuta Ivan Ivanovich, residing in city of Kharkov, Vtoraya Koltsevaya St, Specialists house, apt. 130, and Mr. Khlebnikov Nikolai Nikolaevich, residing in city of Kharkov, Pushkin St. 67, apt 53 - drew up this act on December 23, 1943, stating that Khlebnikova Polina Lazarevna (Perla Leizerovna according to the passport), of Jewish nationality, the wife of Nikolai Nikolaevich Khlebnikov, residing at Pravda Ave. (Pervaya Koltsevaya) number 1 "Tabachnikov" apt 23, was evicted to the special district of city of Kharkov to Stankostroi barracks by the order of The German commendant from December 14, 1941, and stayed in barrack number 1 there from December 15, 1941 to January 2, 1942.
On January 2, 1942, Khlebnikova Polina Lazarevna was taken, along with all other residents of barrack number 1, to an unknown location, by the order of the German barracks commendant.
All attempts to establish the fate of the people taken out by the Germans yielded nothing.
According to the statement of the residents of surrounding areas, all people taken out were shot by the Germans in a ditch near the village of Rogan.
